Boundless inspiration this week, as from all of mainland China to Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, to Philippines and off to the southeast coast of the African continent, in Mauritius, people gather to celebrate the turn of the traditional lunisolar calendar, The Chinese New Year.
According to the Chinese calendar, on 8th of February we are entering the year 4713, which by another Chinese standard, that of the Stem-Branch counting system, makes 2016 the 33rd Stem-Branch in the cycle, also known as the year of the Monkey.
During all 15 days of the Chinese New Year, streets become the home of dragon dances and traditional festivals, while fireworks light up the sky in a feast of togetherness and good fortune until the final day of the New Year celebration, the lantern festival.
It's a time of ceremony and bluster, so why not incorporate the glam factor in your fashion routine, too? Red and gold, the two traditional colors, bound to invite prosperity, joy and good luck will give you the ultimate on-point chromatic game this time of the year.
