Back in 2008, a then 16-year-old Yip Pin Xiu brought home our first Paralympic gold medal. Now in 2016 she's bringing not one but two more, a historic feat, setting two world records in the process!
Of course her triumph follows the widely celebrated gold-medal win of Joseph Schooling in the men's 100m butterfly at last month's Rio Olympics, but these two are not the only ones who should be honored.
Swimming champ Theresa Goh (who started swimming at five and competing at twelve) won bronze in the SB4 100m breaststroke and all the other Team Singapore Paralympians showed tremendous determination in Boccia (Nurulasyiqah Binte Mohammad Taha, Toh Sze Ning), Sailing (Tan Wei Qiang Jovin, Yap Qian Yin), Archery (Nur Syahidah Bte Alim), Athletics (Muhammad Diroy Bin Noordin, Suhairi Bin Suhani, Norsilawati Binte Sa'at) and Equestrian (Gemma Rose Foo, Maximillian Tan Chern, Laurentia Tan Yenyi).
They are all heroes who have made Singapore very proud, and they should all be publicly celebrated not only for their efforts, but for helping us unite as one team, one nation.
Which is exactly why SeeChic will be giving every Team Singapore Paralympian a free pair of Sunglasses of their choice, because their determination has inspired us all!
And to get you motivated to break some records of your own, for the next 72 hours on SeeChic it's Buy One Get One on ALL Sunglasses!
